Parts
I sat this morning thinking about the divisibility of a person. The parts of the self.
I came up with the following:
#1 The Physical – This involves the knowing of the physical form a person has, it is to know the body. This is a visual thing. It is about knowing the person say from a lineup.
#2 The Emotional – This involves the knowing of the persons emotions and the predisposition of the emotional form. You learn a person this way by understanding their feelings.
#3 The Intellectual – This involves the intelligence and knowledge of a person. To know a person this way means you understand the scope of their knowledge and wisdom.
#4 The Sexual – This involves the knowledge of that person or self by its interactions sexually and its related behavior. This is what one learns through intimacy with a person.
#5 The Spiritual – This involves the knowing of the person at their core of who they are. This is what one learns over time with a person. It is perhaps one of the most lacking ways of knowing a person in todays society. Its an understanding of the person’s past, present, and a knowledge of that persons future lives.
I think that when you love someone you may love one or two or more of the above things about the person. With perfect love perhaps coming from an understanding of all 5 about the person and they about you. To come to terms with a person on all 5 would produce an understanding of that person which would facilitate an intimacy that would be lacking from a knowledge of just 1 or two points.
I think I wish to know those I love on all levels. I have always been interested in everything about someone I care for. A deep seated yearning in me to know the person .
I wanna learn.
