Immunity no more

Apparently after a lifetime of immunity to urishiol (active constitituent of poison ivy) it has been overloaded by my extreme exposure to wrist thick vines of the nasty weed.

Yeps my right arm is covered with a not so nice and thick carpet of red blisters and whelts.

Of course granted it took quite a bit to develope this sensitivity, because while cutting the trees down this thick trunk of poison ivy crashed with the tree into the inside of my elbow, embedding the poison ivy’s aerial root hairs somewhat deep within my skin.

I wonder when the new outbreaks will subside. I have washed the area very thoroughly (and repeatedly) with detergent solution to remove any excess or remaining urishiol oil. I can say that tea tree oil does stop the itching better than Caladryl. I just do not like the smell of tea tree oil that much.

Operation Ivy Extermination has begun…I will be the Victor!
