Amazon Deceptions
November 1st, I ordered a router off Amazon.com as I had an amazon gift certificate.
Well the router was available and said would ship usually in 24 hrs. I chose the super saver (free) shipping option as the product was over $25 in value. After placing the order I received an email with the details of the order and in that email it said the item would ship January 5th 2006!
Well I emailed amazon over such a horrendous delay in shipping and they said it was a bug in their system and to rest assured the item would ship in 1 – 2 days. On November 7th I sent another email and received another reply from their customer service saying the item was going to ship in 2 – 3 business days.
Today is November 16th and still the package hasn’t shipped! And another email has been sent to their customer service.
I thought it good to warn others about this since Christmas is coming up and to not put to much stock in their shipping before Christmas promises.
Update: Well they finally explained that they are having difficulties obtaining a good supply of the zonet routers and that they expect to ship me the router by November 23rd. I have also been given two $5 gift certificates for my inconvenience.
Update #2: Today amazon.com sent an email saying my order had to be cancelled as they cannot find sources for the zonet router. What is funny is the router is still listed on amazon and says it will ship usually within 24hrs.
Caveat Emptor!
