Festival of the Mountain Masters
Well the 26th kicked off the Festival of the Mountain Masters and Elli curated the Photography Contest. There was close to 400 entries in 6 categories (Animals, Flowers, Scenery, Harlan County, People, B&W) in two divisions Amateur & Accomplished. The event was judged by Randall Elkins from Morristown TN.
I met Jeff Chapman-Crane who I think is a wonderful artist.
I bought a few lovely wax tarts from a Bledsoe candler named Mammaw’s Candles, really lovely fragrances (65 in total).
We auctioned off the “Window Quilts” from Artist’s Attic. Rhonda’s went for I think $50, Gipe bought Elli’s for $50, mine went for $25, and I think that Ayla’s went for $55.
Rose sold I think 52 $5 raffles for her beautiful quilt and a lady from Hyden won that.
One vendor was telling us about a local festival over in Whitesburg called Seed something or another and it unfortunately falls on the same days as my town’s “Poke Sallet Festival”.
