Immigration
Well we traveled 462.5 miles yesterday (round trip) to Louisville to have
We also spoke to an immigration officer who said we will have a response in a few weeks, and that the fingerprints were the holdup.
So perhaps in a few weeks this will all be over.
I am confused. Was there a problem? Or is this just normal immigration stuff?
January 11th, 2006 at 2:28 pmFingerprint cards expire every 15 months. She was last fingerprinted back in June 2004 and hers has since expired. So she had to go back and be re-fingerprinted. They send those fingerprints off to the FBI for another background check.
Usually one is given the big thumbs up or down within 15 months and most people would not require re-fingerprinting. But they basically lost some of our papers, and changed the photo requirements for the greencard and requested new photos and docs back in August, by the time they received the documents and started to process the case the fingerprints had expired.
The good news is they did not charge us for re-fingerprinting, which they usually do (to the tune of $70).
