My Brother’s House

Last night we woke up to our house’s power going out and I looked out and saw flashing lights in the field adjacent. So I went to the bathroom and looked out and saw my brothers house on fire. We raced outside and was told by the other neighbor who is cpt of the rescue squad that everyone was out safe, and that the fire started in the ceiling. My brother basically lost everything, but a photo album and his pets, no insurance, nothing. What was really sad is that earlier that night me and Elli looked out and he had his place decorated with all these christmas lights and a pretty wreath on the door. Here of late my brother had started really getting everything together, his house was looking the best I ever saw it, and I think his life was on a definate upward swing. It really bothers me that now everything he ever held in value is ash. The fire was most likely caused by crummie wiring installed by my father when he was living on the property. I am quite saddened, I have offered him and his friend a place to stay, clothing, and food. His house took it’s last knock, it survived April with a 200′ pine tree falling on the corner. The house held quite a few memories as my parents built it by hand in the 80’s, I am sad to see it go.

I am so sorry for him. That would just be awful. I’ll think positive thoughts for him.

So far things look positive, far more positive than I would have thought possible 12+ hrs ago.

I am so sorry for your brother.
When I was in 8th grade, our family house burned down too.
We lost everything, even our pets.
Initially you think of all the things you’ve lost, but it’s important to be thankful for what you do have.
Now, many years later I always get upset because I dont have pictures or yearbooks or my baby blanket.

*hugs* for you and your family.
