I looked out our bedroom window and saw a racoon scrambling around our parking area.
Elli took this photo of the lil guy before he retired to the tree.

The internet has been down for the campus for two days. It was estimated that 26k people in Richmond were without electricity (that’s bad for a city of 30k).
Alumni Colliseum was turned into an emergency shelter for those who had no electrical service.
I think most people have electric service restored today (although not all).

EKU is closed again tomorrow due to this massive ice storm which swept through last night.
The big pine outside outside the kitchen window has fallen, and the one at our bedroom window has lost many large branchs. Fortunately we moved our car earlier, as many a large branch (some 3″ or greater in diameter) fell in the spot recently vacated by our car.
This has to be the worst ice storm that I have seen. Even the thinnest tree limbs are encased in over ½” of ice.
I hope to have more photos of the destruction tomorrow.

Pavlova (abbreviated ‘pav’) are a traditional Australian dessert made of a meringue disc topped with whipped cream and fruit, and is incredibly light. A good pavlova’s texture will be crunchy on the meringue and creamy with the slight tartness of the fruit.
